Description

Ecofloor In-Screed Underfloor Heating Cable – 160W/m²

The Ecofloor In-Screed Underfloor Heating Cable is a professional-grade electric heating solution designed specifically for new-build and screeded floor projects. Rated at 15W per linear metre, this system delivers approximately 200W/m², making it ideal for primary heating in larger spaces and high heat-loss areas.

Installed directly onto insulation and covered with a minimum 50mm sand and cement screed, this system provides long-lasting, even heat distribution across the entire floor surface.

Please note: This is a professional installation system and is not intended for DIY fitting.

Why Choose In-Screed Underfloor Heating?

In-screed heating cables are one of the most robust and efficient underfloor heating solutions available. Once installed, the system becomes part of the building structure, delivering consistent warmth with minimal maintenance.

Efficiency & Running Costs

Because the system is embedded in screed, it provides excellent heat retention and stable room temperatures. While warm-up times are slower than surface systems, the heat is stored and released gradually, improving overall efficiency.

How It Compares to Other Systems

In-Screed Cable – best for new builds and full renovations

Heating Mats – faster install for tiled floors

Loose Wire – flexible layouts for awkward spaces

Foil Heating – ideal for floating floors

FAQ’s

Is in-screed underfloor heating good for new builds?

Yes. It is one of the most popular choices for new-build homes because it is installed within the screed layer and provides efficient, even heating across large floor areas.

Can this system heat a whole house?

Yes. When correctly designed with proper insulation and zoning, in-screed systems can be used as a full primary heating solution throughout a property.

Does it work with all flooring types?

Yes. Because the heating cable is embedded within the screed, it is compatible with tile, stone, laminate, engineered wood, vinyl, and carpet.

How long does in-screed heating take to warm up?

It heats more slowly than surface systems, but once warm, it retains heat for longer and provides a more stable, energy-efficient temperature.

Is this system suitable for DIY installation?

No. This is a professional-grade system that should be installed by a qualified installer and connected by a certified electrician.

What insulation is required?

Insulation boards should always be installed beneath the system to reduce heat loss, improve warm-up times, and maximise efficiency.
