Description
Warmup DCM-PRO Peel & Stick V3 Mat
Product Description
The Warmup DCM-PRO Peel & Stick V3 Mat is a decoupling membrane designed for electric underfloor heating beneath tiled floors. It uses decoupling technology to separate the floor finish from the subfloor, helping prevent movement transfer that can lead to cracked tiles or grout.
This protection is especially important in tiled areas where subfloor movement, shrinkage, or minor structural changes might otherwise affect the finished floor.
The Peel & Stick version features a self-adhesive underside, removing the need for a separate adhesive layer beneath the membrane. This makes installation faster and simpler than traditional bonded decoupling mats, and is one of the main reasons it is popular with both installers and homeowners.
Warmup states that the Peel & Stick membrane can offer up to 40% faster installation than standard floor heating membranes in the right conditions. If you need a bonded version for uneven or damp subfloors, we also offer the DCM-PRO Fleece Backed option.
For a wider overview of where this system fits within the market, see our DCM-PRO Underfloor Heating Guide and Electric Underfloor Heating Systems Collection Guide.
Key Features & Benefits
Decoupling protection – helps reduce the risk of cracked tiles and grout
Peel & stick backing – faster installation with no separate adhesive beneath the mat
Installer-friendly design – quick, clean application to suitable subfloors
Flexible cable layout – heating cable can be positioned by hand within the membrane castellations
Tailored heat output – output depends on the cable and spacing selected
Suitable for tiled floors – ideal for ceramic, porcelain, and natural stone finishes
Compatible with other finishes – when covered with self-levelling compound and used with suitable floor finishes
How the System Works
The DCM-PRO Peel & Stick V3 Mat is a decoupling and anti-fracture membrane. The mat itself does not generate heat. Instead, the heating cable is installed into the membrane, and the final system output depends on the cable used and the spacing selected during installation.
This gives the installer more flexibility to adapt the layout to the room size, shape, and heat demand. Each 2m² section of membrane is designed to accommodate 2m² of heating cable as standard, while cable spacing can be adjusted where required to alter coverage and output.
Suitable Applications
The Peel & Stick version is best suited to:
-
Bathrooms and shower rooms with suitable prepared subfloors
-
Kitchens and open-plan tiled spaces
-
Regular subfloors where faster installation is preferred
-
Renovation projects where reducing installation time matters
-
Homeowners or installers wanting a cleaner, simpler fitting process
If the subfloor is coarse, damp, or uneven, the Fleece Backed DCM-PRO is often the better choice.
Floor Finish Compatibility
Direct tiling:
-
Ceramic tiles
-
Porcelain tiles
-
Natural stone
Other floor finishes:
Where the final floor finish is certified for use with underfloor heating, the membrane can be covered with a self-levelling compound layer before installing finishes such as vinyl, timber, or carpet.
For full floor finish guidance, see our Underfloor Heating Compatibility Guide.
Installation Overview
-
Prepare the subfloor so it is clean, sound, and suitable for adhesion
-
Peel away the backing and fix the membrane directly to the floor
-
Press the heating cable into the membrane castellations by hand
-
Tile directly above, or apply levelling compound for other suitable floor finishes
This tool-free cable placement makes the system simple to lay out while still giving good flexibility in room design.
Heating Output Options
The Peel & Stick V3 Mat itself does not have a fixed wattage because the heating cable is sold separately. Once paired with the correct Warmup cable, the system can be tailored to the room and project requirements.
Depending on the cable and spacing selected, DCM-PRO systems can be configured for:
Standard output projects where stronger heating performance is needed
Lower output projects where the property is well insulated or has limited electrical load available
For a full explanation of outputs and running costs, see our DCM-PRO Running Costs Guide.
FAQ’s
What is the difference between Peel & Stick and Fleece Backed DCM-PRO?
Peel & Stick has a self-adhesive underside for faster installation on suitable smooth subfloors. Fleece Backed is designed to be used with traditional adhesives and is often better for uneven, coarse, or damp subfloors.
Does the Peel & Stick mat produce heat on its own?
No. The membrane itself is a decoupling mat only. Heat is provided by the Warmup cable installed within the membrane.
Can I tile directly onto the DCM-PRO Peel & Stick system?
Yes. It is designed for direct tiling with suitable ceramic, porcelain, or natural stone finishes when installed correctly.
Can it be used under vinyl, timber, or carpet?
Yes, but only when the membrane is first covered with a suitable self-levelling compound and the final floor finish is approved for underfloor heating use.
