Description

This pattern takes its name from the design on the original floor at Inverlochy Castle, a grand Victorian house in Scotland. Shown with a Keates border.

Geometrically speaking, an octagon (derived from the Greek for ‘eight angles’) is a polygon that has eight sides. The shape has been in use in architecture for many centuries, especially for religious buildings. The number eight is considered lucky in many cultures, especially in China and Japan.

Victorian floor tiles are a practical choice for paths, porches and halls as they have to deal with constant traffic all year round. They can easily take on the challenge of grimy shoes, wet boots and muddy pets. Once sealed (before use) the tiles are easy to clean and will keep their good looks for years.

Victorian geometric floor tiles are a uniquely British creation and are an ideal solution for restoring period properties but also adding glamour to more modern living spaces.

Our Victorian Floor Tiles are created with individual tiles in the traditional manner. It is the only way to achieve the perfect finish and a truly bespoke result.
