Featuring Makita XPT eXtreme Protection Technology, the housing is designed for improved resistance to ingress from dust and liquids, helping to prolong the lifetime of the machine in outdoor environments. It has a brushless motor which is powerful, efficient and maintenance-free; additionally, the tool is compact and lightweight which allows for comfortable use amongst tightly packed tree branches and other awkward workspaces. For user safety, there is a hand guard underneath the trigger switch as well as a chain guard with a hinge that allows it to move freely when cutting through material. The electric brake brings the chain to a rapid halt as soon as the trigger is released.
