Expamet Brick Reinforcement Ladder 100mm x 2.7m is stainless steel bed joint reinforcement for strengthening masonry and helping control cracking in brickwork.

This structural ladder reinforcement is installed into the mortar bed joint to increase the lateral strength of masonry. It can be used as brick reinforcement in bed joints for new construction, or as part of a suitable repair approach where crack control is needed in existing masonry.

Brick Reinforcement in Bed Joints

Brick reinforcement ladder is laid into the mortar bed joint to reinforce the masonry horizontally. This helps improve lateral strength and can reduce the risk of cracking caused by movement, shrinkage or stress concentration in the wall.

Bed joint reinforcement is commonly used where additional masonry reinforcement is required, including around openings, long wall runs, areas at risk of cracking and locations where the design aims to increase spacing between movement joints.

When to Use 100mm Bed Joint Reinforcement

This 100mm reinforcement ladder is typically used where the wall width, masonry design or specification calls for 100mm wide structural ladder reinforcement. It is suitable for external wall applications where stainless steel reinforcement is required.

Installation Note

Bed joint reinforcement should be fully embedded into the mortar bed with suitable cover and overlap in accordance with the project specification and manufacturer guidance. Expamet’s flat wire reinforcement guidance refers to a 225mm overlap at ends.
