Insulation Discs for Cavity Wall Ties

Insulation discs are used where cavity wall insulation needs to be retained on wall ties. Once fitted over the tie, the disc helps keep the insulation board or fibre insulation in position as the wall is built.

This is particularly important with partial-fill cavity insulation, where the insulation must be held securely while still leaving the required clear cavity. Correctly fitted cavity insulation clips help reduce movement in the insulation layer and support the intended wall build-up.

When to Use Insulation Retaining Clips

Use insulation retaining clips when the wall specification requires cavity insulation to be fixed back using the wall ties. They are commonly used alongside stainless steel cavity wall ties, housing ties and timber frame ties where insulation retention is part of the wall design.

These discs are accessories for wall ties and cavity insulation. They are not a substitute for the wall ties themselves.
